AYP1251568Patient Testimonial: All of us can feel a little stuck at times—like our forward progress in life has been halted or delayed by forces beyond our control. We can be more susceptible to emotional triggers of fear and anger at these times, where it would be wise to ask for help.

I had lost of number of my family members during the past few years and was dealing with a lot of grief and loss. But my situation was compounded by the presence of manipulative and controlling people in my life, including a roommate who would not meet her financial obligations and wouldn’t move out.

It was as if I was enveloped in quick sand, unable to overcome the fear and anger I was feeling. I was having trouble finding work because I wasn’t projecting the confidence employers needed to see in order to hire me. I felt stuck, like nothing would ever change. I needed to be more hopeful about my future; I needed to know that I could take care of myself without other people taking advantage of me.

I had visited Dr. Seven-Sky for chiropractic care for my back pain, but soon learned that her practice encompassed a wide variety of wellness issues, including a perception reframing process called EVOX.

Reframing Emotional Perceptions

EVOX uses the voice (VOX is Latin for voice) to map perceptions about specific things such as our health, relationships, work or athletic performance—any aspect of life.  It analyzes the map, called a Perception Index, creating playback information that the body uses to bring perception to the level of awareness, which allows it to be reframed. EVOX is used to improve every aspect of human performance.

So I tried it. I went through the EVOX process, where I was prompted to discuss my job situation. I learned my fear about getting a job was related to the recent loss of my mother. It kept coming up in the analysis and was evident in my vocal tones.

I can’t say it was like waving a magic wand, but slowly I started to get some responses back from job calls. I also had a different perspective about finding work—that a job could lead to something, even if it wasn’t exactly what I was looking for.

Working Through Work-Related Issues

During my last session with Dr. Seven-Sky we talked about my work and the sales job I eventually found. My boss and I were going around and around at each other. It was really about fear: His fear that I would take business away from him, because I had owned a successful business prior to working for him; and my fearful response—my own fear of failure, always thinking that I would be unable to sell well. The conversation was an emotional trigger for anger and fear, so we worked through these triggers until we found a solution.

It was two people plugged into individual fears that had nothing to do with each other, but it set off a never-ending cycle of button pushing. The bottom line was that we both wanted the same thing; namely, lots of BUSINESS. The session provided a way for me to reframe this perception—to view things in a different way, and by the end of it I was laughing and feeling a whole lot better.

Sometimes your situation changes, and sometimes you change in the situation. I can say that happened to me as a result of Dr. Seven-Sky’s EVOX treatments.
